Homebirth service NHS70 celebration event held at Nottingham City Hospital
Join us for the NHS70 homebirth event on Thursday 5 July Maternity Unit at City Hospital from 1-3pm.
The afternoon will give new and prospective parents the opportunity to explore options relating to birthing plans and maternity, providing lots of information and a historic look back at many of the babies born at home across Nottinghamshire in the past 70 years.
A bedroom will be set up with all the home birth equipment, birthing pools, CUB chairs, birthing balls etc and you can join in with some of the many activities including: live Yoga demonstration, Aromatherapy experience, hear stories or tell your own at our ‘story telling corner’, learn about the home birth service, speak to our parent education team and hear about support available with infant feeding,
Clare Watson, Community Midwife and Antenatal Services Matron, said: “The event is important so that women are completely informed about which services are available to them, we want to showcase what is on offer at Nottingham Hospitals and show different birthing options that patients wouldn’t usually think about.”
Clare added: “You can expect to have lots of fun and to meet the midwifery team, ask questions and get to know the service we provide. It will be NHS70 themed throughout and we shall be looking back on homebirthing options throughout the 70 years of NHS history. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The Maternity Homebirth service event is being held from 1pm – 3pm on Thursday 5 July at the Patient Hotel, 2nd Floor, Maternity Unit, City Hospital.
