The very best examples of outstanding nursing and midwifery care were celebrated at the Nurse and Midwife of the Year Awards 2018, which are possible thanks to a partnership between Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), Nottingham Express Transit (NET) and the Nottingham Post.

Luisa Avanzado, Staff Nurse on Berman 2 Ward at Nottingham City Hospital, was voted the overall winner.

‘NHS 70’ Award

Sarah Freer

Assistant Divisional Nurse, Palliative & End of Life Care Lead

Sarah Freer, who won the NHS 70 Award for her excellent contribution to nursing, spoke to us about how it felt to win. She said:
