Travel by tram

City Hospital is not directly served by the tram service, but you can use the tram to get to Wilkinson Street park and ride and then use the Medilink bus to complete your journey. For more information see our Medilink and park and ride page.

Travelling by tram from Nottingham train station

From Nottingham train station, visitors can take a tram going to either Phoenix Park or Hucknall, get off at Wilkinson Street and connect with the Medilink bus to City Hospital. Alternatively, visitors can take the tram to Toton Lane and get off at the QMC before connecting with the Medilink bus to City Hospital.

The Medilink bus runs every 10 minutes, Monday to Friday between Queen's Drive and Wilkinson Street park and ride sites and the QMC and City Hospital.

Easylink bus service

Easylink is an accessible bus service run by Community Transport for Nottingham.

It is a door-to-door service designed to support customers who find the main bus and tram network difficult to use.

Travel by bike

There are excellent cycle routes leading to the QMC and City Hospital. You can plan your journey online by visiting the CycleStreets website.

Parking your bicycle

There are spaces for more than 100 bicycles at both hospital sites.

At City Hospital, there is a Citycard Cycle Hub located on the South Road opposite Clinical Haematology. At QMC, there is a Hub located under the Tram stop, near to the Treatment Centre. To access the Citycard Cycle Hubs, you must first be registered. You can do this by visiting Russell’s Bike Shed on Queens Road on the south side of Nottingham Station. To receive a Citycard Cycle Card, there is a registration charge of £5. This will give you access to all the Council hubs in Nottingham. For more details, please visit the Citycard website.

Medilink and Park & Ride

The Medilink service runs around every 10 minutes between 4.50am and 9pm, Monday to Friday.  *Please note that the Medilink doesn't operate on Bank Holidays.

The service links the two main hospital sites (QMC and City Hospital) and the Wilkinson Street and Queen's Drive park and ride sites. There are additional stops at the junction of Nuthall Road and Crown Island.

Patients and visitors are able to pay via cash or contractless card payments on the Medilink.

Wilkinson Street Park & Ride

The nearest park and ride to the City Hospital is on Wilkinson Street off Nottingham's ring road. The postcode is NG7 7NW. The site is open every day from 6am until 1am and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies.

Wilkinson Street is also served by the NET Nottingham tram that travels direct to QMC.

Parking at Wilkinson street is free, providing you purchase and use a ticket for the bus or tram service.

Queen's Drive park and ride

Queen's Drive park and ride is located off Queen's Drive near the A52, Clifton Bridge. The postcode is NG2 1AP. It is open from 6am to 8.30pm, Monday to Saturday and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies.

Queen's Drive is also served by the Citylink 1 bus, which runs every 10 minutes to Nottingham city centre until 4.35pm.

The site is approximately 25-30 minutes' walk from QMC.

Parking at the park and ride site is free, providing you pay for a bus ticket.
