Charity Champion
This award celebrates the thousands of hospital staff who volunteer each year to support the work of our hospitals charity through fundraising or the creative use of charity funds, or who help raise funds for their hospital area.
Endoscopy Team
To enhance their facilities and patient care, the Endoscopy Team have been fundraising, organising a number of events and activities to support redevelopment of their service. Their creative fundraising efforts have also raised awareness of Nottingham Hospitals Charity and fostered team-building among staff, boosting morale. So far, they have raised over £5,000, positively impacting their service and patients.
Hayward House Team
The Hayward House Team actively supports Nottingham Hospitals Charity, participating in various fundraising events each year for their specialist palliative care unit. Additionally, they host their own events like coffee mornings and fairs, and maintain collection boxes. The funds are essential for the Hayward House Appeal, aiding in garden and building improvements for patients, families, and staff.
Mandie Allsopp-Smith — Healthcare Assistant
Mandie consistently seeks ways to raise funds and enhance patient experiences on her ward. This year, she organised a beach day with games, decorations, and treats like ice cream and sweets for patients. She also regularly holds bake sales to generate additional funds.
Louise Beades-Denteh — Gynaecology Nurse Specialist
Louise proactively connected with Forever Stars, a charity supporting families facing stillbirth and infant loss. She has tirelessly raised funds to provide teddy bears, memory boxes, and furnished rooms to comfort women experiencing miscarriage or loss. Despite limited recognition and support, her efforts have significantly impacted patients and their families.
Maternity and Neonatal Redesign Programme Team
The Maternity and Neonatal Redesign Programme Team has enthusiastically supported Nottingham Hospitals Charity's Big Appeal for a new Neonatal Unit at QMC. They have organised tours, fundraising events, and participated in charity activities. In addition to their work on the unit's construction, they dedicate their free time to fundraising, ensuring that the money raised enhances the unit with added comforts for families.
