She was integral in the set-up of the NUH Prehab Service and is a passionate advocate for both the service and her team. Her unwavering support, fairness, and proactive encouragement highlight her exceptional leadership qualities, inspiring continuous improvement and personal growth within her colleagues.
Adam Carney — Consultant Anaesthetist and Clinical Lead for Planned Care
Adam exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding leader, characterised by kindness, fairness, humour, and genuine care for others. His commitment to patient-focused care and excellence, along with his ability to navigate challenges, makes him an invaluable asset to his team. As a visionary leader in Theatres, Adam consistently seeks innovative solutions to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Donna Jones — Head of Facilities
Donna is an exceptional and inspirational leader, known for her unwavering drive and contagious enthusiasm. She communicates with empathy, even in challenging situations, and has broken barriers as a female leader in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her leadership has profoundly impacted areas like patient flow and has driven business results while cultivating a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and respect. Starting her career as a cleaning services assistant, she has risen to a significant role, sharing her remarkable journey to inspire others.
Fiona Wallis — Matron, Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Fiona has significantly transformed intrapartum services at NUH since becoming the intrapartum matron, addressing issues of unclear leadership and disconnect between senior management and clinical teams. Her approachable leadership has fostered a strong team of managers, leading to successful staff rotations and increased staffing levels, ultimately enhancing service delivery. Her positive influence has revitalised the labour ward, creating a welcoming environment for both staff and families.
Paul Chenery — Cellular Pathology Service Manager, Deputy Pathology Directorate Manager
Paul has significantly transformed Cellular Pathology services, instilling ambition and support for development within the team. His innovative vision has inspired team members and established a clear strategy for the department. Through empowering leadership, he has equipped the team with the skills and tools necessary for excellent patient care.
