Nottingham Forest fan and rehab patient receives special surprise from club
A Nottingham Forest fan who suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple neck fractures after he fell on the way home from a match has been invited back to the Forest stadium for a special surprise.
Harvey Trout, 60, a retired flooring businessman, tripped and fell on his way home in May 2023 and was in critical condition upon arrival at QMC, and facing a challenging recovery.
After several weeks on the Major Trauma ward, Harvey spent seven weeks at Linden Lodge rehabilitation unit, where his vision, mobility, and independence improved significantly with the help of a multi-disciplinary team.
19 months on from his accident, Harvey has been able to return to watching Nottingham Forest matches with his friends and his sons.
Harvey shared his story with us back in November as part of National Occupational Therapists Week.
When Nottingham Forest heard about Harvey’s journey, they arranged for a day of special surprises for him at the club ground - captured in this video from NFFC.
