Free on demand courses for healthcare innovators who want to work with the NHS
Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) has launched its Innovation Academy on a new platform – with brand new content for innovators.
The Innovation Academy offers support and guidance to innovators who have an idea that could benefit our health and care system.
The Academy offers free on-demand short courses designed for innovators to guide them through the innovation pathway to gain an understanding of how the NHS takes forward new innovative products to improve patient care and outcomes.
As the innovation arm of the NHS in the East Midlands, HIEM has in-depth knowledge of health systems and can help develop solutions that are commercially viable and transform care for patients.
Commercial Manager, Alison Mlot said: “The NHS is one of the largest and most valuable institutions in the world today, but can also be the most complex to navigate. There are many stages that suppliers into the NHS need to understand from various points of their product development cycle. The Innovation Academy can help them to find their way through. Some of the content might also be useful to people who are new to working with and in the NHS.”
The Academy consists of a series of on-demand courses ranging 15-45mins in length complemented by Innovator Success Stories and bookable 'Ask the Expert' sessions. The courses will equip innovators with the core skills required to work with the NHS and deliver new innovations. Participants in the Academy will learn how to apply business concepts, tools and terminology whilst gaining an understanding of the NHS and healthcare market.
