This award recognises the contribution of staff who provide invaluable ‘behind the scenes’ support.
The Children in Care Admin Team is essential for NUH's work with vulnerable children and young people, including those in care, fostering, adoption, and unaccompanied asylum seekers. Their dedication enables swift access to high-quality specialist care and their proactive approach and passion for their work create a supportive environment, making them a crucial part of the service's success.
Liz is an invaluable staff member whose significant impact often goes unnoticed. Although her role is not directly patient-facing, she plays a crucial part in ensuring excellent dietetic care. With years of experience, she has built strong connections across the Trust, serving as a leader and mentor for non-registered staff. Despite not being a registered dietitian, her dedication to showcasing the team's efforts makes her a "hidden gem" within the Trust.
Mick exemplifies key values, stepping up during busy times, especially at the financial year-end, where he prioritised supporting his team despite staffing gaps. His mission is to support his colleagues in delivering the best possible service, recognising that every procurement decision impacts patient care and safety. His wealth of knowledge and willingness to help others make him an invaluable asset to the team.
Natalie has an outstanding work ethic and is a constant source of innovative ideas and knowledge. She is working with almost every clinical specialty and division helping them achieve their 'Getting it right first time' (GIRFT) standards and targets. Waiting lists are improving, productivity is increasing, our national standing is evident for all to see, and our patients are benefitting due to her expertise. Working independently for months, she has accomplished the work typically expected of a full team. She is the very definition of a "hidden gem".
Sally has been a leading force for Professional Nurse Advocates (PNAs) in Critical Care since the onset of Covid-19. Known for her thoughtfulness and care, she has been instrumental in supporting the influx of International Nurses and promoting staff well-being in a demanding environment.
