Information and Support

Nottingham Radiotherapy Information and Support

At Nottingham we have a dedicated team of Radiographers to help support everyone during or after their Radiotherapy journey. We have a mix of site specialist Radiographers and general support Radiographers who can help with a large range of problems that could occur on the Radiotherapy pathway.

Do not suffer in silence, we are always here to help.

The Information & Support Radiographers are here to:

  • Provide relevant information and support to you, your relatives and carers on all aspects of your radiotherapy treatment, side-effects and how best to look after yourself during treatment
  • Explain and clarify medical terms used during consultations by medical staff
  • Allow for a confidential environment for you to discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding your treatment/side effects
  • Refer you onto other appropriate professionals or services that may be of assistance to you with your needs.
  • Signpost to support groups or events that might be of interest to you.

You can ask to speak to an Information and Support Radiographer at any time during your treatment course. You may also be referred to them by a member of staff while attending for treatment. Treatment staff may also be able to help with your queries so please also discuss any issues with them.

This service is open to all patients, their relatives and carers who are attending for Radiotherapy treatment at Nottingham City Hospital.
