24 Hours in A&E episodes to be repeated due to popular demand

Due to huge popularity, Channel 4 will be repeating two episodes of 24 Hours in A&E filmed at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s (NUH) Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) throughout August.

The Royal Television Society (RTS) award-winning documentary follows staff and patients in one of the busiest A&E departments in the country. A place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every single day.

In case you missed it, People Like Us, which was originally broadcast in February 2023, will be repeated on Monday 7 August at 9pm on Channel 4.

The episode focuses on the importance of family ties and follows 21-year-old Connor who is rushed into resus after crashing his motorbike into a telegraph pole whilst on ride with his brother, Shane.

Rob, 69, has locked-in-syndrome, a rare neurological disorder resulting in near complete paralysis. He is admitted after his breathing tube becomes dislodged, leaving him struggling to breathe. While Nurse, Jay and the team work to re-insert it, Rob’s daughter-in-law, Jenny reveals how a stroke may have resulted in him losing the ability to move, but brought the family together.

In the Minors department, 58-year-old, Lisa is admitted with a wrist injury after she slipped in the shower on a Spanish holiday. Accompanied into A&E by her close friend, Michelle, we hear how tragedy ended up strengthening their relationship.

During September and October 2021, the Trust welcomed cameras into the Emergency Department at QMC for the first series to be filmed outside of London.

A total of 24 programmes were recorded and the first 11 episodes have been broadcast so far this year. A further episode will be repeated on Monday 14 August.

Cameras returned to Nottingham in May this year to film Series 2.
