Credit giant Experian partners with NUH to help staff during national cost of living crisis

Nottingham-based credit giant Experian is working with our  Staff Wellbeing Team to help our staff manage their finances through the current cost-of-living crunch.

Exclusive all-day advice sessions are taking place at Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital today and tomorrow, with further online sessions planned for April.

Experts will be advising on a range of issues, such as how to build your credit score, dealing with credit refusal, applying for credit, budgeting, managing debt, and claiming benefits.

Staff were also able to book confidential one-to-one sessions with an Experian adviser. And, for those who can’t attend in person, Experian’s Head of Consumer Affairs James Jones will give an online introduction to credit score management in early April.

The sessions are part of a range of initiatives introduced by the Trust to help staff during the national cost-of-living crisis, including a Financial Wellbeing Toolkit, a £2 main meal offer, and our Buy, Sell and Give Away scheme; Experian analysis has shown that 61% of consumers acknowledge that cost-of-living crisis is having a significant impact on their finances.

NUH Chief People Officer Neil Pease said: “Our staff work incredibly hard caring for people every day and we are committed to doing all we can to care for them. We know that the rising cost of living is putting additional pressures on our staff.

"We’re delighted to partner with Experian to host these financial resilience sessions as part of a range of initiatives to support our staff.”

Emma Bates - lead specialist at Nottingham Financial Resilience Partnership - is working alongside Experian on this week's events after successfully delivering a series of online staff sessions at NUH on different aspects of money management.

James Jones, Head of Consumer Affairs for Experian, said: “One of Experian’s core commitments is helping people to understand and make the most of their credit score so that that they can take steps to improve their financial health. We’re really pleased to be launching this programme to bring extra support to NUH team as part of the organisation’s wider cost-of-living support plans.”

NUH Chief Executive Anthony May said: “With the current cost of living crisis affecting us all in different ways, I know financial management can cause feelings of stress and anxiety.

“I am very grateful to Experian for hosting two financial fairs exclusively for all NUH staff to help with money management and financial wellbeing. Experian is a valued partner of NUH and I know they will provide sound advice for our staff. I hope as many colleagues as possible engage with the sessions.”
