The East Midlands Imaging Network joins the Edison™ Accelerator as a Validation Partner

The East Midlands Imaging Network (EMRAD) has joined the Edison™ Accelerator as a Validation Partner.
The Edison™ Accelerator programme aims to accelerate start-ups and connect healthcare providers to innovators in digital health and artificial intelligence.
It allows start-ups to learn from all programme partners offering healthcare domain knowledge and IT expertise to enhance the value proposition of their business ideas.
As a Validation Partner, EMRAD has helped to select the start-ups and will offer advice and clinical mentoring throughout the programme. They will also provide an opportunity to run a pilot deployment.
The Edison™ Accelerator programme, designed by GE Healthcare in partnership with Wayra UK, Telefónica's Open Innovation Hub, launches solutions for specific problems and integrates innovative technologies or new business models.
Start-ups can tap into GE Healthcare’s extensive global network, which includes thousands of sales professionals and distribution partners in 160 countries.
Penny Storr, Network Director of EMRAD said: “Being a part of this programme is important for the imaging ecosystem as we can gain insights into innovative solutions that can assist with imaging (radiology) workflow.
“We are excited by the ability to support these companies in understanding imaging demands and how these solutions can be implemented to improve the quality of Radiology services across EMRAD.”
Jan Beger, Senior Director of Digital Ecosystem and Head of Edison™ Accelerator, GE Healthcare said: “The future of innovation will be about working across silos and collaborating across the healthcare ecosystem, including start-ups, research centres, hospitals, clinicians and patients. The Edison™ Accelerator is bringing together those stakeholders under a single, connected ecosystem to generate a real impact in helping to improve the bottom line and in providing patient care.”
