Cardiac Rehabilitation

About Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Team

Welcome to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at Nottingham University Hospitals. Our dedicated team is committed to providing exceptional care on people’s journey to cardiovascular health and recovery. Our team consists of highly skilled and compassionate healthcare experts who work together to support and guide our patients through the rehabilitation process.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals recovering from cardiac events by delivering comprehensive and personalized cardiac rehabilitation services. We focus on empowering patients to make positive lifestyle changes, improve their cardiovascular health, and reduce the risk of future cardiac events.

Services we offer

1. Personalized Exercise Programs

Our experienced physiotherapists and exercise professionals design individualized exercise programs to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and overall well-being. These programs are tailored to each patient's unique needs and medical condition.

2. Educational Workshops

Education is a key component of our approach to empower patients with knowledge. We conduct informative workshops covering various topics, including heart disease, medication management, and strategies for maintaining a heart-healthy lifestyle.

3. Emotional Support and Referral to Counselling

Recognizing the emotional aspects of recovery, our team strives to provide psychological support and open the communication channels with mental health services if needed. Managing stress, anxiety, and depression is integral to overall cardiovascular well-being.

4. Nutritional Education

Our dietitians provide expert guidance on heart-healthy nutrition and help you understand how to plan balanced meals to address factors such as diabetes, cholesterol management, blood pressure control, and weight management.
