Head of Research Education and Impact
Rachel has led Communications, Marketing, Corporate Governance, Customer Relations and Public Relations teams in both the public and private sectors including the NHS, local government and transport industries.
Rachel joined Research & Innovation in 2018 and her role covers the delivery of communications and public and patient engagement, together with ensuring that our research is inclusive of all communities as part of the workforce and providing opportunities to take part in research. She is also the Senior Management Team lead for the development of the Research Futures School, which develops education for all professionals within research and for the work around the impact of the research we do at NUH and in our centres of excellence.

A trained journalist, Andrew has many years’ experience working both in-house and for Public Relations agencies in media relations, on PR campaigns and with creating content for a wide variety of audiences and channels.
He joined the Research & Innovation team in 2019 as a Communications Specialist. Andrew’s role includes media and external relations for the R&I divisions, NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Centre and NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility, writing content for our digital research channels, and supervising photography to support all of our communications.
He is also a contributor to Research & Innovation’s The Clinical Research podcast.

Dolline Mukui

Dolline studied at Media and Communications at Coventry University before Masters in Broadcast Journalism. During her time studying, Dolline has had successful work placements with Global, BBC and ITV. Shortly after graduating she started as production journalist at ITV, then went on to work for Sky in Internal Communications.
Dolline has adapted her strong skills from Broadcast Journalism and Internal Communications into her role in Research and Innovation

Rakesh is a paediatrician by qualification from University of Delhi with a vast experience of community practice as a Consultant Paediatrician. After doing his Masters in Business Administration from University of Nottingham he have developed an expertise in Operational Management, Business Strategy, Marketing, People Management, and Project Management. Microsoft Certification in Azure Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals in 2021 ignited his curiosity in applying AI in Research and Innovation to benefit the quality of lives of patients. Before joining NUH R&I as Head of Research Education in January 2023, he was managing various recruitment, education, and training projects in the Department of Education at Barking Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust in East London.
