Global Hub India

Global Hub India is a supportive community for Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) staff of Indian heritage and allies. We support NUH’s inclusion strategies by creating a platform where individuals can connect, share knowledge, and engage in meaningful conversations regarding global health and culture. We are a centre that supports community engagement, as this plays a crucial role in the increasing development of cultural intelligence within NUH and strengthening the international reputation of the Trust. Some of the Hub’s activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support the trust inclusion strategy
  • Collaborate with local charities, similar global hubs, community organizations, organizing and executing initiatives that benefit both internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan social events which foster learning, recruitment and retention, career development, collaborative research, wellbeing, cultural inclusion and identity
  • Support in implementing sustainability initiatives within the organization
  • Organise volunteer events

Most recently, a walking challenge was held on the 18th of July where volunteers walked from Queens Medical Centre (QMC) to Nottingham City Hospital. The aim of this charity walk was to spread awareness about Global Hub India and raise funds to support professional and personal development of colleagues from the Indian diaspora and future activities of the Hub. An amazing sum of £565 was raised and this generous donation was gifted to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
