Welcome to the East Midlands Sarcoma Service (EMSS) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH).

We are one of fifteen NICE-accredited Sarcoma Specialist Centres in England and Wales. We help with diagnosis of lumps and provide care for people who are diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma in the East Midlands region.

Sarcomas are rare malignancies. We manage in excess of 150 new soft tissue sarcomas per year and we also arrange investigations for hundreds of people every year that we are able to reassure do not have sarcoma.

NUH (City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre) is the lead treatment centre for EMSS. We work within a wider network of NHS Trusts in the East Midlands region where some treatments, diagnostic and follow-up services are also offered. Weekly multi-disciplinary meetings involve all   centres across the region in order to offer integrated care for all patients regardless of location.
