Train travel
Commuting by train can be convenient and reliable if you live in a different city. The benefits include a less stressful commute than driving, avoidance of congestion, and potential savings in petrol and car maintenance expenses.
The Nottingham city Railway Station is conveniently located next to a tram stop, allowing commuters easy access to the QMC as well as City (via transfer to Medilink at Wilkinson Street stop) and Ropewalk (short walk from Market Square stop). It is also a short walk to the Victoria Centre bus stops, from where you can catch a bus to City Campus every 7-10 minutes.
East Midlands Trains offers staff two types of discounts:
- 10% discount on their annual pass cost to applicants who have never had an East Midlands Train Annual Pass before
- 5% discount on their annual pass cost to applicants who have held an East Midlands Trains annual pass before (note: this applies whether the former pass was acquired via the NUH Travel to Work Scheme or directly purchased by the applicant).
You can apply for a discounted East Midlands Rail Pass through out Travel to Work Scheme , or a RobinHood pass to access this and other services (including Bus networks and the Tram) within a limited area.
