For Patients

Accessing the service

You can access our service though a member of your cancer team at NUH or GP surgery. This could be a nurse, doctor, physiotherapist or dietician, for example. You can ask for any one of these people to refer you to our service. You cannot refer yourself or someone else.

How we work

  1. Referral (from healthcare professional as stated above)
  2. A member of your cancer team asks us to speak with you. They will check to make sure you are okay with this
  3. Consultation — You are contacted by telephone by our in-house NUH Cancer Psychology Team or by our partners in the community depending on what is right for you
  4. Assessment — If our service seems right for you, we will get you booked in for a first appointment

For ReferrersĀ

You can refer an outpatient at NUH into our service through the CareFlow “Place Order” function. Please complete the “O/P Psychological Therapy referrer (CANCER)” form.

You can refer an inpatient at NUH through Nervecentre. Please complete the “Clinical Psych –Adult Oncology” form.

If you have any queries about a referral we can help, please contact the link psychologist for your specialism. If you do not know who this is, please contact Dr Mike Rennoldson (service lead).
