Problems we can help with

A diagnosis of cancer can mean treatments with uncomfortable side effects, worrying surgical procedures, and unwanted changes to your body. It may all happen very fast, and feel like life is spinning out of control. You may consider your own mortality for the first time, and worry about the impact of your illness on your loved ones. You might withdraw from those you love, do things to excess to distract yourself, or not do much at all. On the other hand, you may feel things are fine, that life is manageable, and even that having cancer has led to some positive changes too.

Many people with cancer find some life changes can be challenging to cope with. From hearing the diagnosis for the first time, all the way through your cancer journey, you may need to draw on different skills to cope at different times.

We want to meet you wherever you are with cancer. This may include times such as:

  • Soon after diagnosis

  • At the start of or during treatment

  • At the end of treatment

  • During remission

  • If the cancer comes back

  • If the goal of treatment changes from curing or controlling cancer
